THE JOSHUA TREE'S VIRGIN / / / AMARILLO CENTRO DE DISEÑO / / / DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION
Mexico / / / 12.12 is a Mexican collective poster exhibit organized by Amarillo Centro de Diseño a tribute to Our Lady of Guadalupe's, December the 12th, a national holiday.
Faith is a delicate subject for me, growing up in a country a was the religion of the majority is different than own wasn't always pleasant, but even so, this taught me a very important lesson early in life, FAITH IS A PRIVATE ISSUE and to respect all religious expressions is paramount. When I received the invitation to make a homage to one of the most beloved national icons, Our Lady of Guadalupe, sincerely I have doubts whether or not to decline the project, on the one hand, was an opportunity to reinterpret an icon that for many are a synonym of Mexico and on the other hand should be extremely careful not to disturb the image in any negative way, so I take the decision to focus exclusively on the subject of faith rather on the image itself; and most importantly in expressing what I had learned: if one has not the capacity to understand why someone puts their hopes in someone or something as the guidance of their life does not mean that does not exist. The leaves rest in the wind, faith in a sigh, and that sigh, however small and subjective, is the most important thing, at least for me.

la fe en un suspiro”
